Peer Support
When you or somebody close to you is in need of help, having trouble finding and maintaining balance in life, finding difficulty in managing stressful situations, experiencing obstacles in your relationships, and you would like someone to talk to, contact a Peer Support member.
What is Peer Support?
It is confidential support for members by members. The CPS Peer Support program is comprised of a diverse group of trained sworn and civilian volunteers with various life experiences and skills, who are committed to assisting members and their families through difficult times.
Support provided peer-to-peer has been proven to be tremendously important in helping individuals and families move through stressful times. Because peers have often shared similar life experiences, they have a genuine understanding of what their co-workers are going through. It is also common for people with similar backgrounds to be able to offer each other practical strategies and advice for coping, which have worked for them in the past. When you or somebody close to you is in need of help, having trouble finding and maintaining balance in life, finding difficulty in managing stressful situations, experiencing obstacles in your relationships, and you would like someone to talk to, contact a Peer Support member.
In choosing someone to talk with, please select someone you can trust and feel comfortable with. It does not need to be someone in your work area, rank, or sworn or civilian. If you would like assistance finding a peer who best suits your needs, please contact the Peer Support Coordinator.
