The Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) is a proactive way to manage your personal health and well-being. The program offers confidential, short-term counselling and information service offered free of charge as part of your total compensation package. It provides your and your eligible family members with solution-focused counselling and resources on a variety of health and wellness topics, including:

  • fitness and physical health
  • mental health
  • relationships
  • nutrition
  • finances
  • elder care
  • legal
  • and much more

The program provider, TELUS Health, offers a modern EFAP solution that supports your mental, social and financial well-being. You and your eligible family members can receive support over the phone, in-person, online, and through a variety of health and wellness resources.

Information you will need to provide to EFAP

 

  • Your employee number (for the first time you access TELUS Health)
  • Personal information (name, date of birth, contact information)
  • Organization information (The City of Calgary)
  • Preferred language (translation services are available if needed)
  • General nature of the issue or concern
  • You may be asked to answer safety assessment questions

 

Most callers in need of urgent support will be offered the opportunity to speak with a counsellor immediately. For non-urgent support, most callers are offered an appointment time within 1 to 3 days.
